Soundswell is a Mount Maunganui–based community music organisation offering welcoming community choirs and Julie Wylie Musical Play classes for babies and young children.
From first musical experiences in early childhood to the joy of singing together as adults, Soundswell creates meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to connect, grow and belong through music.
We believe music strengthens wellbeing, builds confidence, nurtures creativity and brings communities together — and that everyone deserves access to music, regardless of age or experience.
Choir members enjoy:
Weekly rehearsals in a relaxed, supportive environment
Easy-to-follow teaching and vocal warm-ups
Harmony singing guided for all ability levels
A diverse mix of uplifting contemporary songs and classics
Opportunities to perform at local events and community gatherings (optional)
A welcoming social community across Mount Maunganui and Tauranga
If you can talk, you can sing — and we’ll help you find your voice.
